SRI Follow up for Trimester Three. Work on Moodle IDIOM assignment when finished.

Monday, March 3

EXPLAIN women's scientist essay project - may want to make copies for the students to take home. If so, please ask to use the RISO in the office (Carol and/or Susi can show you how). Might be easier for all the students to have the instructions and formatting instructions in one place. SUBMIT your three names for consideration to MOODLE.

 BRAINSTORM ideas and get approval for people (other than those on the samples). Look at the Women's History link on schoolnotes then look in the scientist section. Give approvals - be sure that they are actually fitting the profile as explained in the essays.

HAVE students log into and out of my access. Remind them that there is a difference between SAVE AND FINISH LATER and SUBMIT. You may ONLY SUBMIT twice - once when you are done with the whole essay after spell checking! Then one more time after your REVISIONS! Your two submissions are due by FRIDAY, March 12th

Tuesday, Mar. 4

ELD = WAVE VOCAB

15 minutes KYB

Outline of essay due - be sure to show to guest teacher before you start to write - you must have all the elements that are required in the essay - you can choose to outline your ideas, use a concept map, bubble map - whichever works best for you. This will be part of your grade! You must turn in your brainstorm/outline on Friday along with your final submission. If you need to do some research, go online but you can only take notes -- no printing of the information, please.

Wednesday, Mar. 5

ELD: Wave responses on Moodle. Be sure to use the links.

Explain again the difference between SAVE FOR LATER and SUBMIT. If there is no one int he PC lab, you may want to send a few students who have trouble loggin on over to that side. Keep them so that you can easily see their screens (the row facing the inner door is good). You will be able to print out a list of their passwords and user names as they are NOT the same as their powerschool passwords. They should also have them on their password cards. If you have student who is not in the class list, check the list first. Then ask RAY GEN (via district email) to set up an account for them. Give him their name, grade level. Then add to the class so that they will be able to work on the assignment. If they don't work, check the dates for the items being open.

ROUGH DRAFT of essay needs to be typed. Remember, unless this is your FINAL, SAVE TO FINISH LATER about every 5 minutes. This is for a contest so must meet the criteria.

Thursday - Friday - Mar. 6-7th

Work on rough drafts and collecting information for your essay. Must have a final and a revision completed by the end of the class next WEDNESDAY. ! ELD if done, read and share your essays in class. If not, finish on Monday.
